Have you claimed your Google Places Listing yet?

If you haven’t – This could be the perfect place to start your Internet Marketing campaign

This small “Website” can help you a lot in pointing people to your website or business.

Simple go to Google Maps : http://maps.google.co.za/

Go to “Put your business on Google Maps”

 

 

To get your Place page ranking well you need to fill in as much information as you can. Names, Number, Photo’s, Videos and then you need to start building citations.

The ranking of your place page is highly dependent on having the right citations.

After you have completed the setup, Google will want to confirm that you realy do own the cell number that you entered and they will send you a validation code. Enter this in the small box provided, and Bob’s your uncle.

What Is Internet Marketing?

And with all our online marketing tools, we can still do offline marketing as well, especially in the smaller towns where everybody doesn’t yet know about the internet.

How long do you think it takes to become a Internet Marketer or Website Designer?

A year, two years, 5, 10 years?

The thing is..

I have been doing internet marketing for three years now, and I get my sites ranked better than a lot of people that’s been in this game for 10 – 15 years.

I have been doing website design for less than a year, and I recently designed a full e-commerce site with a live chat function for a client (unfortunately he didn’t pay, so the site didn’t go live)

Yes my sites are limited to the wordpress platform, but they look nice and it makes it a LOT easier to refresh and redesign your site when you want a new look (I updated my site in a afternoon)

I am getting of track here

What was I talking about – O Yes. What is internet marketing?

Internet marketing is whatever you need it to be.

Internet marketing is getting results on your investment.

A Yellow Pages Add will cost you upwards of R 2000 per year.

I can get you started for R870. For LIFE!

How many customers will you get from your Yellow Pages Add? 3 maybe 4. That’s R500 per customer

From a well optimized place-page? 3 to 4 per month! That’s 36 per year. So each new customer costs you R27,70.

And each year that your site stays up the costs get lower – If it was set up right the first time!

So what is internet marketing?

In one sentence?

Internet Marketing is a great Return On Investment

Are Website Designers Crooks?

I recently browsed through the internet and found a company in Pretoria that designs websites, prints business cards, banners and posters. And they do SEO promotion.

I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw what they charge for a 1 page site.

R 7500 for a one page site?!!
Now I know my sites are bigger. And I build nice high ranking sites.

And I stay up late nights to find out how to give you what you want.
But R7000 for a ONE page site. I will give you a site that performs just as well as this 1 page sales site, and you have the option of building additional pages if you need them.

And then I scrolled down to their options:

R5000 for Search Engine Optimization Sevices!!

All my sites come Search Engine Optimized!

My “Get the Local IM Edge” gives you SEO Services that these guys will probably charge you more than R10 000 for.

Linkbuilding, Feeder Sites, Place and map listing, Directory submissions, ect, ect, ect.

So why am I so cheap?

Am I stupid?

Do I give shoddy service?

I think not. My sites rank great in Google. I have pushed some of my clients from page 17 on Google places to nr 4 page 1.

And I really do not think that I am stupid.

But I do think that some of the web designers in South Africa are robbing their clients blind. They build them a site and leave them to cope on their own. They over promise and under deliver.

A wise man once said :” Deliver Maximum Value – 10X to  100X what you get paid for and the clients will stay with you until the end of days.”

So that is what I do. I want to give each and every small business in South Africa the chance to get a great internet profile with a HUGE local internet footprint.

That is why I am limiting myself to only 7 clients per niche/business. I want my clients to dominate their local search results, and I will do that by giving them the best internet marketing that I can.

So . . . . Are Website Designers Crooks?

Brows the net and decide for yourself. As for myself, I can rest easy in the knowledge that I am definitely NOT a Crook.

Flash Websites

I do not do Flash websites for 3 simple reasons:

  • Most new Cellphones no longer support flash
  • Most flash sites look like amateurs constructed them
  • Google doesn’t like flash sites

Since I want to provide you with the largest and most responsive audience, I need to get Google to like you and I want cellphone users to be able to view your website.

And I don’t like flash. It’s looks tacky, the music that usually gets played annoys the ****  out of me and my focus is on getting traffic to your site (wich won’t happen with flash)

Now I know some website designers like to use their flash site builders because its easy to drag and drop when you are building a site, but their clients will never get any traffic and thus will never make money from their website.

I am probably the best SEO expert in the Welkom Goldfields region, and for that simple fact I get my sites ranked higher than other website designers in Welkom.

I got this site ranked 12th in Google after 1 day. At this stage I have positions 2-4 for “Ben Steyn in Welkom” and position 4 for “Website Designer in Welkom” and position 2 in the local search listing on Google Places. That’s not bad for a site that is less than a month old.

So trust me when I tell you Flash is dead and WordPress is the new king of the mountain.

Google Ranking

Getting your site ranked in Google can be a tricky thing.

Most Website Designers in the Welkom region can build you a nice looking site, but then all you have is a piece of virtual property that nobody knows about. It’s like opening a new shop, but hiding it away in a back alley (the size of the world).

Now setting up your website most likely already cost you money – and it will cost you even more money to send people to your site. Adverts in the newspaper, radio and maybe even in a magazine or two.
